Dog Listener

Dog listening is a concept that originated with the UK’s Jan Fennell who uses a method known as ‘Amichien BondingĀ®’. Dog listeners consult with dog owners whose dogs are exhibiting stress behaviour such as excessive barking, separation anxiety and running away. They teach owners to communicate with the dog in the dog’s language to reduce these negative behaviours.

There are several trained dog listeners already working in Australia You need to obtain a Certificate of Advanced Canine Communication by training with Jan Fennell . Unfortunately she is based in the UK but does run courses in different countries so you could be lucky. Alternatively you could coincide a trip to the UK with a course. She runs two-day ‘Foundation course in Canine Communication’ and a three-day “Advanced Course in Canine Communication”. For more information and dates please visit Jan Fennell’s website.
